    New Masterbuilt Gravity models coming

My 560 basically burned through the cook chamber and the controller failed. Just not built very well. This new model looks better but I will not spend $1,500 on a Masterbuilt product.

What is your favorite Lumberjack Pellet flavor for all meats - if you had to choose one??

100% Hickory. The blends don't produce enough smoke flavor for my tastes.

    New Masterbuilt Gravity models coming

Masterbuilt’s controllers are their Achilles heel. Every MB product I’ve owned has had a controller failure.

    LSG or?

Check out the Camp Chef Woodwind Pro. It has a smokebox that you can add wood and/or charcoal to.

Oklahoma Joe Tahoma 900 (Pics, Assembly, burn-in)

Thanks for the pics. Any idea if the area where the charcoal would be burning is insulated? I guess that would be the bottom of the hopper? On my Masterbuilt the steel burned away and exposed hard firebrick type material. Supposedly it was normal.

    Oklahoma Joe Auto-Feed Charcoal Smoker

True but this has a different hopper design. It’s slanted vs 100% vertical.

Throw wood chunks in the hopper.

    Oklahoma Joe Auto-Feed Charcoal Smoker

Tahoma 900. I thought Masterbuilt had a patent on gravity feed charcoal. https://www.oklahomajoes.com/tahoma-900

    New Masterbuilt Gravity models coming

I think you made the right choice. $1,500 is kind of crazy for a Masterbuilt product. Not sure a porcelain cook chamber or 3 year warranty is worth that kind of cash. I'm sure the warranty does't cover the cook chamber rotting out. If it's actually thicker metal than my 560 then maybe. Your...

    I don't know. Char-Griller isn't exactly known for quality.

    New RecTeq models

They showed 3 new grills today. Two more tomorrow. Nothing ground breaking but they look a little more modern. We'll see about the other two tomorrow.

    where did the smoke go??

I have a MB 560 and have smoked many briskets. I use B&B Oak briquettes and post oak chunks in the ash bin. I smoke typically @ 275 and wrap with butcher paper around 160 internal. I've never had an issue with bark or smoke flavor.

Masterbuilt Gravity 1050? - First Smoker?

I've had a 560 for about 3 years now. It puts out some great tasting food. However, it's not going to last as long as say, a Weber Genesis. I used mine as both grill and smoker and IMO it probably shortened its life considerably. Doing a deep clean last week and I noticed the grill body just...

    Masterbuilt, Gravity 800 series

I've had a 560 for 3 years and while it produces great tasting BBQ it is on its last legs. The interior is disintegrating. I regret using it as a grill as it just isn't meant for high heat IMO. It's pretty thin metal. My controller has also become non-responsive so I'm forced to use the app...

I'm ready to upgrade from my Camp Chef Pellet to an gravity fed...would like some experiences

I've had a MB 560 for 3 years. It puts out some great flavor and is relatively easy to use. Blows away the flavor from my RecTeq. That being said, it is not a high quality smoker. It's pretty thin metal and I don't expect it to last too much longer. The controller has stopped responding to...

    Masterbuilt Gravity Feed

Well after 2 years and 6 months I finally have a major failure. The knob on the controller no longer responds. The buttons work but I can't change the temp. Thankfully I can with the app. I have the Home Depot 3 year extended warranty. This may be the only time I've ever used an extended...
