what's an older landmann blackdog42 offset worth? owner sent me photos & it looks to be near 3/6" thick so it's heavier than the new ones. it also looks to be it great shape
I have a Good One Open Range which looks to be the one they copied. i'm chiming in to say that I find the over & under design just makes sense. since the firebox attaches to the entire length cook chamber the heat is even throughout. on the open range the cook chamber heat control is a full...
sav a lot in the st louis area has rib eye roast, eye round, & round rump roast on sale for $5.99, $3.29, & $2.99 per # thru tomorrow & possibly thru sunday
I do not know if this good everywhere but Sav-A-Lot in the st louis area has a 3 day deal on pork butts for $1.19 per lb. I was just there & the smallest one they had was 16 lbs.
I already see a modification I want to make. i'm going to weld a pair of washers on the inside of the lid at each end so I can use them to hold the probes of my maverick thermometer. i'm also going to buy a 2nd thermometer. i'm seeing a 20* difference from 1 end to the other. I do not have a...
I bought an original O.K. Joe Longhorn this summer. since it's usually just the wife & I, I usually smoke in my weber performer/Cajun bandit. I'm getting ready to smoke my 1st brisket so i'm doing a trial run in the O.K. Joe with some whole chickens, a rack of ribs, & a pork butt. the fire is...
the only thing I've found so far is a 4 year old thread on barbeque brethren & that was someone else asking about them. no real info. apparrently they're no longer in business.
the owner e mailed me some photos but I'm having a problem posting them
anyone have one of the older !/4" steel brinkman offsets? i'm wondering how the build quality was. I had a pitmaster that was 1/8" steel that was decent. looking thru old ads & used ones on craigslist the 1/8" brinkmans, new braunsfield, & some of the others almost look like they were made in...
the baking sheets are fairly stout & won't be directly over the fire so I think they should hold up. they're only $7.30 each so if the should fail it would not be that big of a deal. I have a slightly lighter gauge pizza pan directly over the fire of my weber kettle with a Cajun bandit smoker...
you're correct. I looked the horizon site again. the holes start out smaller nearest the firebox & get larger as they go. still-if I put the solid sheet next to the firebox does this sound like it work? since the holes are small maybe both sheets should have holes??
I have an older original Oklahoma joe longhorn offset smoker. I was looking around the horizon smoker website & found that they make a diffuser for Oklahoma joe smokers. near the firebox the plate has holes that graduate in size the farther the they get from the firebox. I was at a local...
I've been reading a lot about convection plates but this is the 1s time I've seen this. the explanation makes sense. most tuning plates go all the way across the cooking space so would this limit the overall effect?
