New here - is this MES 40 a good deal?
It is the gen 2.5, and it is a good deal. The only slight detraction is the interior is aluminized steel. The one on amazon is stainless steel. If you plan to cook a lot and are concerned about longevity the extra money might be worth it.- rignerd

Completely agree, for $400 (+TTL) you can get the Masterbuilt 40 inch from Sam's Club and the A-maze-in Pellet smoker, a rib rack or two and a sampler of wood pellets/chips. Based on my research that is exactly what I bought today. I already have a good thermometer to calibrate the smoker. If...
