The only experience I have had with these kinds of casings were bad. I only use real hog casings. I had same problem and got tired of wasting my money when hog casings worked better. Good luck

OK. I got sausage stuffed and ran out of time. It's in frige in a pan. Will be tomorrow evening before I can start smoking. How do I prep it, been so long I can't remember. I think I hang it up and put a fan on it till the casing dries then on the smoker at around 175 and pore the smoke to it...
So far working well. Consistent heat. Got to figure out a better way for the smoking. Wood catches fire so wrapped it in foil and pocked holes in it. Doesn't really put out much smoke. Will find out in about another 2 hrs.
Finally trying my homemade smoker. I built it for a whopping $25. Got some baby backs and a whole chicken. Haven't got racks made yet so hanging them. Will post a few picks soon.
As with anything, everyone has an opinion. The way I reheat mine is put it in a skillet, add a little broth or water and put a lid on it and reheat. Not a lot of liquid or the meat won't taste right. You are just steaming it to reheat. At least it works for me.
