There is no mention of the PitBoss controller using PID technology. I put a RecTec PID controller in my CampChef a couple years ago. Big improvement and wifi! It looks like they're not selling the controller anymore but I would definitely search for a PID unit.
I had a 2012 Mak 2 Star, lost it due to house fire and now have a 2019 2 Star with the latest firmware upgrade. In between, I've had GMG, Traeger and Camp Chef. With a variety of different pellets, nothing compares to the smoke output of the new Mak. I absolutely love this beast. The amount of...
The backside of the controller is marked as well as the instruction manual. My harness simply plugs in so no splicing. Everything can be returned to stock, if I need warranty work done.
I saw that RecTec had their wifi PID controller (presumably for their older grills) on sale for $99 and thought that it might be adapted to use with my CampChef. I ordered it and made up a simple harness. After connecting, I got 3 different errors. Turns out that my RTD was incompatible with the...

Does anyone have any experience with Pit Boss Competition pellets? I just picked up a 40 pound bag at Coastal Farm here in Oregon for $15.99. Seems like a killer deal if they burn well.
I bought a used pellet grill that had been well used. There are grease stains on most surfaces. I would like to clean it up to repaint it. I've used Simple Green with a 3M coarse scrubbing pad but still can't get them off. What else should I try?
I found a used Char-Griller that didn't work. I bought a new igniter and temp control from Amazon and a new Ortec controller on eBay. It works as well as my old (US built) Traeger, GMG Daniel Boone and smoked nearly as well as my (lost to a house fire) MAK. I even found a cover for it on eBay...
