    Well... I started the smoker and it was smoking really good. I set it at 250 and the Ink bird said it was at 315 in just about a half hr but the unit was reading 183. So I tried to turn the temp up and it wouldnt go past 204 before showing the "H" code. Manual says that is the overheated code or...

    I saw that most were talking about that, Using the poke test to see if its like going thru butter type thing. I will do that. When ya say longer and at a higher temp when finished does that mean I should set the temp higher?? Thanks, Dave

    I'm going to try and use a smoke tube in the new Pit Boss V4 and my question is, although I can hear the fan running under the unit, does it get enough air to keep the tube smoking? It's basicly an oven and puffs some smoke every once in awhile and I want more smoke flavor than it gives me...

    I have a meat store I go to to get a lot of my meat and they have the best smoked potatoes around. I asked them what temp and how long they do it and they said that they use a pressure cooker that smokes them all in one sha bang. Ever heard of anything like this? When I try to smoke potatoes...

    Thanks for all the help! I can see it a little better in my head with the help ya'll have givin me. Imma give it a try and see what happens. Everyone said the food tasted great and could taste a small amount of smoke but heck... maybe it's just me but... I need that eat the dang smoke flavored...

    Well I dont know about the heat source since it will be on the bottom rack inside the smoker. The fire box is outside on the bottom then the smoke from that travels thru the sides of the unit to the oven so it wouldnt get a heat source but would maybe get some air flow from the fan generating...

    What if I get one of those A-maze-n things and do as mentioned....fill it up, light it, let set and then put on the bottom rack of the smoker? How long do ya think it would give me smoke? If I have to open the door that will let my heat and smoke out so should I try it at every hour and a half...
