Hi all a quick question here,
I'm making a baffle plate for my smoker and quite possibly some tuning plates.
I was able to pick up some 1/8th inch stainles steel at the scrap yard, and am cutting it to fit.
It occurred to me I'd better seek a wider opinion of whether stainless is okay on the...
Hi all --
Opinions sought here --
I have an older very heavy Brinkmanns' offset - much heavier than any of the offsets you see today at Lowes and HD that you can easily pick up with one hand. Not this thing...
Anyhow - it has NO baffles of any kind inside.
Regarding something to better block...
By the way...
I will WARN PEOPLE...
There are some sites out there
Hainshow, etc..
They purport to offer the ENTIRE
pellet hopper/chassis/auger/controller
For $75 or less..
THESE ARE SCAMS..
You can check the merchant scam reporting sites and you'll find that people have reported hundreds of...
Hi all,
I'm wanting to build my own pellet feeder for either my Brinkmanns offset smoker,
or perhaps the MES30.
I am also on a fairly low budget with the Finance Minister, so the full on pellet kits at $400-$600 are out of budget.
At those prices, I should just buy a whole lower-end pellet...
Thanks!
I thought something was going badly wrong!
I think what I'll do is look for a fireproof high temp mat and cut a strip to lay up there.
Other than that - to give a review - it's a great grill!
Hi everyone --
I bought the 4-burner Char-Broil Tru-Infrared Commercial series from Lowes awhile back, after my first Char-Broil finally died after 20+ years.
Really like CharBroil for their price point - just can't budget for the same size Weber or other.
However - have a problem that I'm not...
Hi all,
This may not be the right place for this thread so if The Mods want to move it to some sort of build forum that might be appropriate. On my phone I didn't see such a subforum so I figured I'd start off here.
So having decided I'm not enough of a boy scout to keep a very steady fire...
Thanks for the replies everyone....
For now I picked up a Maverick at home depot.
I can receive the data on that at a better range, And can receive it with a software defined receiver as well.
Hi all....
I'm looking around to see who knows of a Wi-Fi barbecue thermometer.
My trusty old ink bird four probe Bluetooth one is starting to become flaky.
I find that I don't like Bluetooth because I live in a house with thick rock walls on the 1st floor and all I have to do is get one of...
Hi everyone -
I have been given a secondhand MES 30, the older analog type.
It only has one cooking rack in it.
I would like to get the other three, but the only online sources I see are for pairs of racks, and I don't really need five racks after I order two pairs to get three....
I'm also...
Meh... It's just that I'm a longtime electronics/electrical tech.
That _really_ should have occurred to me.... it's not like I haven't known insulators from conductors for years...
I was actually overthinking it, imagining that by the point at which the element was touching the metal,
the...
So, after many hours of intermittent pounding on it to clean it, here is the resulting mailbox mod.
Freshly painted, rolling stand built, mailbox plumbed in.
PID controller still underway -- I'm using an Auber 2342 a friend gave me, with an SSR and heatsink from a PC.
Previous owner had...
Err.... DOH!
OK thanks -- <whacks forehead a few times>
:oops: (if there were an embarassed emoticon on here...)
Can we now not discuss the fact that I've been a amateur radio operator for 30+ years, and didn't even THINK about why pots don't short stove elements out!
Geez, that was...
