Maverick probe wires and MES 40. Through the door or down through the vent?

Help... Am I about to ruin these ribs?

Well, I guess my auto notifications for this post didn't work. I never got any notifications so I didn't see any of your replies until now. Ribs turned out ok, smoker was set on 230 and they cooked for 4.5 hours and then finished off of the grill. The flavor was great and they were tender...

Help... Am I about to ruin these ribs?

First time smoker and I broke out my new MES40 ysterday, seasoned it according to the directions and tested out on a couple chicken leg quarters. I just used chips and they came out pretty well. Well enough for me to test out some ribs for the family. Here's the deal, I set the smoker to 225...

NEW MAVERICK ET-735 - NOW AVAILABLE!!

I was set on upgrading to the iGrill2 but I'm glad I came across this. I need to order a AMNPS so I'll see if these are available in the store and just get everything at once. Are there any current coupon codes or mil/leo discounts?

    How Many Mes Owners Here?

Thanks for the info, I never thought about elevation issues. I'm at 1,300 ft so I hope elevation won't be a problem for me. I've been reading about thermometers and it sounds like I should get one to go along with the MES and AMNPS to really get the most out of my smoker.

    Rabbit Jerky???

I'm new to the forums and recently picked up my first smoker. I really want to get into making jerky and was wondering if anyone here has made or tried rabbit jerky. I've seen dried rabbit meat as dogs treats but that's about it. I figured that it might make a decent choice since the meat is...

    New MES40 Sportsman Bluetooth review

I just got the floor model from Sam's for $300 out the door. It's my first smoker so I'm excited to see what it can do. Are new ones supposed to come with a cover or any of the temperature probes? Also, should I look into the mesh dust/pellet container?

    Greetings from KS

Just picked up my first smoker yesterday, Masterbuilt 40" electric, and a friend from work told me to sign up for the forum. I've came across some interesting posts on here while searching different recipes and ideas over the years so I'm glad to become a part of the community.
