Oh lol Sorry, Ive been gone for a while I feel like a forum newb again. for smokers Ive got my choice of either using my old country wrangler stick burner or my MES. probably going to fire up the old country since I feel like its been neglected since I got the MES. Not sure how big a turkey yet...
Ive searched though some old threads but just wanted to go ahead and ask anyway. Planning on smoking a whole turkey sometime in the next week. Never cooked any kind of bird like this before. Any advice before I end up with a full on turkey jerky. Temps, Times, where do I take a temp reading, any...
Lol that looks like it was a good time. Good job on getting out there and giving it a go. It's weekends like that that you'll be telling stories about for a long time
Normally I would just make my rubs or sauces like anyone else and just mix up stuff that I think taste good. I just like to have other recipes to try out or use as a base to build on. And for what it's worth Sometimes I make some pretty horrible stuff that I just toss out. Same wit making beer...

lol I brewed a pliny clone while i was in germany. I lot of the folks out there that I let try it hated it. Ive never had an actual pliny so i had nothing to compare it to but I thought mine was pretty damn good.
was going to ask this very question. glad i did a quick search first. for anyone else curious about this the link posted is very good starting point to keep a log if you've been looking for a template,
Well this was really good. I can't wait to make more of these. And different variations of it too. The only question I have is about the bacon. The bacon never realy seemed to cook. The outside looked amazing but on the inside that was up against the roll just wasn't cooked, and where the bacon...
Just took it off and threw it in the oven for just a few minutes to crisp up the bacon a tad. Gonna let it cool for a second then slice it open. I think it's gonna be good. If it tastes half as good as it looks and smells it's gonna be a hit.
Been a while since I fired my cooker up an smoked something, so after looking thru a bunch of these fattie threads and decided I needed to try this. Just wanted to keep it simple because Id never done anything like this before and not sure how it will come out. So just ground beef with some...
