From what I'd been seeing, pulling at around 157-160 will get it to 165 with the carry-over heat. At least that was my understanding based on what I was reading/watching.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to smoke my first turkey for Thanksgiving (I know, I know...bad idea to make my first attempt on a holiday...). I should say that I'm new to smoking turkey, but not new to smoking other meats. So...hopefully experience with other stuff counts for somethin...
Hey guys, wondering if when I re-season my Masterbuilt Gravity Series 800 if I need to go back through ALL of the initial steps I went through to pre-season it? It seems like a lot to do, but if it's necessary I'll go through it. I'm just wondering if some of those steps were to burn off things...
Thanks, everyone! I just pulled the trigger on a Masterbuilt Gravity Series 800 Grill+Griddle. Walmart did indeed have them on discount for $549, so that was easily within my budget and seems like it'll be a gem! I would've gone for the 1050, but the price was about $250 more, and it seems the...
Haha! Yep! I'm kind of at overload.
However, I had never seen that gravity fed Masterbuilt. Somehow I missed it when looking at other grills. I think that may be the one I've been looking for!
A few of you asked about my budget. I'm looking at staying under $1k.
I also should've mentioned...
In my own dream world, someone would create a combo grill that allowed me to use either charcoal/wood chunks or pellets (similar to how they do with charcoal/propane combo grills). ...but no such marvel exists from what I can find.
Hey everyone, we just got a house (finally out of that apartment life!!), and I'm looking at grills (of course!). I would like something that will serve our family well, but I also entertain fairly large groups regularly from our church (maybe around 30 people). So I'm trying to get something...
Hi everyone! My brand new Cabela's Carnivore grinder will be here tomorrow, and I'm super excited to try some cool sausage recipes! I couldn't find a thread with a shared list of recipes, so I thought I'd start one. :-) What are your favorite smoked sausage recipes? Also, don't shy away from any...
So I had talked myself into the Cabela's Deluxe Meat Grinder. I figured that would do the trick...until I actually went and looked at that one next to the 3/4 HP Carnivore... Now I really want the Carnivore... NOW, I have to figure out a way to convince my wife that it's a good idea...
I'm honestly not certain, but I don't see myself likely doing more than 10# at a time. I've never made sausage myself before, so this will be a first time endeavor. When I make boudin, it's usually about 5-10#.
If I buy a stuffer, I would need to buy the grinder first I think. It would mean...
Alright, I'm in the market for my first grinder, and I've been reading all kinds of articles, and I think I'm at information overload... I'm limited to a budget of around $100-$150. I figure that's probably ok since I'm not planning to do a ton of sausage making...yet. I'm mostly just looking to...
Here's the first one we did. I made this one day before yesterday. It's Italian sausage, jambalaya and Swiss cheese (it was the only cheese we had on hand due to a minor miscommunication between me and the Mrs. Haha!).
The bacon weave wasn't the greatest, but we figured with practice, we'll...
