    Looking for grinder/mixer parts

I'm looking at having a bronze dough hook made, but without having a pattern it's a little difficult (and expensive).  I'm half tempted to sell it and recoup enough to have half the cost of a used hobart.

    Looking for grinder/mixer parts

Just an update - talked to G.S. Blakeslee directly - this mixer was apparently manufactured in 1947.  They claim it's a "Model 20" (even though the tag says L-20) and that they don't have any parts for it.  Not suprising really, given that it's older than me and most of my friends, but still...

    Looking for grinder/mixer parts

So I got my grinder setup done, now I'm looking for additional mixing parts for this mixer.  I'd especially like to find a dough hook or paddle to mix sausage.  I've been looking all over, but I can't find the appropriate connector for this mixer.  Anyone familiar with this connection type on a...

    Looking for grinder/mixer parts

That looks pretty sweet.  I'll probably call them tomorrow to confirm the dimensions or returnability in case it it doesn't fit quite right.

    Looking for grinder/mixer parts

I saw their site, and I found a few places that offer Blakeslee grinder heads, but they're at quite a price premium. I also figured out that someone had wired the motor backwards at some point in time.  The beater was rotating the wrong way, as was the PTO, so the PTO now spins...

    Looking for grinder/mixer parts

So I just found a 20 quart floor standing mixer on Craigslist for $40.  I picked it up (and nearly threw out my back) and now I'm trying to track down parts to add functionality. The biggest thing that I want to do is add a grinder head to it.  The mixer is a G.S. Blakeslee 20 quart mixer, and...

    New plywood smokehouse

Yup, I did wet my chips. I'll run a batch through dry and see how they do.

    New plywood smokehouse

Finished my smoker up - running it through a seasoning right now - seems to work pretty well, but I'm having problems getting it to produce a lot of smoke. If I turn up the heat, it smokes better, but a lot of the smoking I'm going to do is probably going to be in the 165-185 range, and it...

    New plywood smokehouse

Just picked this up for my smoker at Bass Pro Shops - figured I couldn't go wrong with it : http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/st..._SearchResults Comes with everything I need, regulator, burner, stand, pot (for chips and sawdust) and a lid that I can drill holes in. Anything that I should...

    Electric Or Propane

My home rig is _going_ to be a gas unit (going to be just because I finished the shell last night, have to get the burner bought and installed). My favorite though is my uncles smoke "shack". Cinder block 10x15 building with an old boiler in it for a firebox. Last year we went through two...

    New plywood smokehouse

I too had the same question - I just built a plywood smoker but was assured that by properly "seasoning" it, I wouldn't have any issues. I was told to run it at about 200 degrees with full smoke for 3-4 hours, and that it should purge out any nasties. FYI - I built mine according to this post...
