How are you liking the WSD-1500H-W Auber controller? That's the one I'm looking at for mine as well.

Thanks for pointing that out Dr K, I saw that frayed bit of insulation as well. Luckily I have a decent length of wire to work with so cutting behind the frayed part shouldn't be a problem.

Yep, makes perfect sense, thanks for the info. I'll take pics as I do the mods and post here when everything is done and running so others in the future will have pics of the mods for this model MES. Thanks again! Matt

Thanks for the info!! I found a bunch of info TallBM and others have put on here about hooking up the Auber PID to the MES. Looks pretty straight forward and will save me a decent amount of $$$$

Hey Steve, I use Purple Power degreaser and hot water to clean the SS Scotch-Brite. I just spray it down so it's soaked, massage it throughout the pad and then rinse thoroughly with hot water. Takes about 5 minutes. I do the same thing after each use to clean it.

I'll definitely give that a try. I believe I can fit the other two in the reducer between my smoke generator and the dryer tube leading to the MES.

The SS Scitch-Brite pad definitely works. Here's a pic of it after smoking for 6 hours on Sunday. Cleaned right up with Purple Power and hot water.

Trying out your SS Scotch-bright filter tomorrow John. Cleaned it and stuck in in the outflow pirt of my Masterbuilt cold smoker. I'll let you know how it works out!
