I pulled the trigger on a woodwind when Home Depot had them for $600-something with the sear box......so better or worse, I am taken care of (although thus far it has clearly been "better," this thing is great).
At the time-abouts there were some really nice sales floating around. Now, I have...
ok have yet to burn the sear box clean, and I am terrible at taking pictures, but smoked 4 pork chops and 2 NY strips last night. 2 chops rubbed in blackened seasoning and 2 in weber steak n chop, both strip steaks in blackened. They were just "grilled" at 400. Very nice, I overcooked the...
hmmmm, got the woodwind, excited to try it out. Only thing I will say is that the smoker is a bit smaller than I had anticipated. Wondering how big a turkey it can handle....
Can you grill on the sear box? I would prefer to smoke day in and day out but I just wanted to cook a steak or a burger can you actually do that or are the reasons the box won't do a full cook?

Rec-Tec 680: Bigger, even more expensive, but on sale as closeout at just within budget highest end
Grilla Silverbac: love the fact its...
not interested in the kamado.BGE types.....I think they're pretty cool and have an uncle who swears by his, but it isn't what I'm looking for in terms of footprint, etc. I am afraid
Hi all, first post but I am looking to buy a pellet smoker to replace some old stuff--I have a propane grill and a home-made drum. I have read a fair bit on here and understand the pellet smoker has some limitations in both grilling and smoking, but they appeal all the same--controlling temps...
