    How Many Mes Owners Here?

I have had my MES for over a year.  And i like it very much. The problem I had initially is that it is not very high off the ground. And it does not have wheels. I solved the height problem by standing it on four cinder blocks. Works great. I have smoked chiken, pork, beef in it, yet to try fish...

    Hello from Texas

Hey Foamheart, I'm from South Texas (San Antonio area) and in Texas "howdee" is actually "howdy y'all". Just wanted to share some wisdom to our neighbors to the East.  BTW, love Louisiana, as my oldest son lives in New Orleans and used to work as a sous chef in the quarter.

    Smoking Tomatoes

Have you googled it?  From what I see on Wikipedia, it is a crowd funding platform. It allows people to raise money for events ranging from life events such as celebrations and graduations to challenging circumstances like accidents and illnesses

    Smoking Tomatoes

After I replied to you, I googled cold smoking and was surprised at the many methods and recommendations. I had really never heard of cold smoking, or I just didn't pay attention. I will now give this method some serious attention. Now that I am fully retired, after 45 years, I can devote my...

    Smoking Tomatoes

Thanks Danny. I never gave a thought to how I wanted to use the tomatoes. I like to make my own salsa, and I thought smoked tomatoes would be good. Think I will stick to roasting them over a open grill fire.

Pellet Smokers in the Greater San Antonio Area?

Yes, Sippel Hardware in University City, 513 Pat Booker Road. I have a good friend who bought a Trager from Sippel and they still get their pellets from Sippel. Give em a call, 210-658-4681. If you are a COSTCO member, at times they have a grill plus they carry the pellets. Good Luck.

    Smoking Tomatoes

Is it a smart move to smoke tomatoes? Do they stand up to the heat and the smoke well. I am inclined to say no, but am looking for validation.

A great big friendly HOWDY Y'ALL from Kingmac here in Live Oak. I have been a great fan of BBQ using primarily charcoal and/or wood. I have a big grill with an offset firebox making it ideal for smoking.  Some time ago, I bought an electric smoker and have used it on numerous occasions, And...
