this is my smoker

How much smoke is suposed to be coming out of my smoker. it smokes really hard for 5 min when i add new wood but doesnt smoke hardly at all untill I add more wood.... is this correct?

I'm from the most south east part of MI.... just north of Toledo. I am a very experienced griller but very new to smoking.

I just got this eletric smoker last week. My 1st try was a 7 pd beef brisket. It said 45 min per pd and in 2 hours it was really good to sample but I let it go a few more hours and over cooked it . today I'm going to try a pork tenderloin and see how it goes. I am looking forward to reading...
