    Reviving a MES 30 --> PID

    That would be a life saver! If you don’t need it and whenever you’re comfortable getting rid of it, send me a message. I have a chicken wing competition the end of this month and I’m freaking out trying to get this thing to work in time, with my limited amount of knowledge!

    Reviving a MES 30 --> PID

    Hey! I’m having problems with my smoker and we’ve narrowed it down to a bad board. (Thanks to the help of these fine people on this site!) looking at my pictures and yours, it appears to be the same board. What are your plans with your board? If you’re willing and able to part with it I’d love...

    After more digging, scraping, cleaning, wiring, I think I found the culprit. The black box labeled “HONGFA” on the bottom bored is melted at the N.O. Terminal, which corresponds to the dark spot on the green side of the board. Now I feel like my options are very limited. 1) I found the...

    Thank you! I’ve always got power to the smoker. Always been able to set the time and temp, which leads me to believe it isn’t an external issue. Did you see my most recent update with pictures of the lower circuit board and their components? Of all the areas I’ve looked at, they were the...

    After reading through some more forums, I decided to flip over the smoker and see what the bottom looked like. This was the first panel I opened, and first thing I noticed was moisture inside. I’m not sure if you can see the moisture from the pictures, but you can see areas rusted. There's...

    I’ll double check, I did replace with a ceramic switch. I also tried connecting the two wires to bypass and nothing. Have not rewired. Replacements: the heating element, new spade terminals on both wires connecting the to the heating element, new ceramic safety limit switch. I haven’t changed...

    Step by step update: -Replaced the thermal regulator, fired up the smoker and it did not heat. -Removed the plate with the heating element connectors and out of frustration of replacing the heating element, I forgot to connect them back. EDIT: reconnected the element connectors. -Turned on the...

    I’m having the same issue now. Did you end up removing the back or cut the sheet metal to make a panel? I’m having trouble visualizing this and I can’t find any videos showing someone replacing the overheat switch.
