I just finished one of these myself! WOW! I don't boast but it came out awesome and works even better.
I will post a thread this weekend and some pics of my build process!!
Also I am assuming there is some type of grate/expanded metal on the inlet of the transfer tube to stop any coals from entering the tube.
Am I correct on that assumption?
Well its been a while so hope you still might get this. I am building a gravity feed smoker and was curious what thickness of material did you use to build the fire box? 1/4" or 1/2" thick?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Been a while since I,ve been on here. Thinking about buying an MES or maybe a Bradley. I am curious if you can low smoke on the MES and has anyone had any luck doing it. Wanting to buy a smoker that I can do cheese in. I know someone who owns a Bradley and can smoke at 100 deg...
Thanks guys! Goin for the mother load. Starting it up at 2 am for 8 pork butts for a wedding rehearsal. Little nervous about the cold weather. Gonna be in the mid 20's when I start. Should be fun!
