I think you're making this harder than it has to be. As someone else suggested get a burn barrel and cut a hole below the bottom seam big enough to fit the head of your shovel in. Drill holes at the bottom third seam and stick rebar through those holes to act as a grate for the barrel. About...
Well if I only have 14 in almost 4 years not sure I can get 36 more (35 now). I’ll try to post a pic of the last butt from start to finish.
here’s the start
I’m terrible at remembering to take pictures. I’m old and just like to eat. Y’all have a great day.
Well I don't know how many posts I have but I'm sure it's no where close to 50. This might be the first. I've been lurking for awhile and have gotten a tremendous amount of knowledge and ideas from this site. I smoke a good many butts, chuckles and whole chickens but haven't pulled the...
Sorry about all the work only to have something like this happen. I'm in SC and we had an ice storm about 10 years ago that did similar damage. My wife's grandparents had a huge Live Oak tree in their yard and it was a twisted broken heap with most of the limbs on the ground. We thought about...

I usually leave my charcoal in the chimney 30-40 minutes (even 3/4 full). Seems like it takes that long to get all of the charcoal a shed over. Not sure if that had anything to do with it or not.
On that same path....try a deep fried boston butt after you get done with the turkey. I actually found the recipe on the instructions for one of my turkey fryers. It's been awhile since I've done it but should be 8 1/2 to 9 minutes a #. I usually do one that is 6-8#. They are delicious and...
