    Did this and ended up with a cut finger. Luckily, the glass of scotch I had nearby was a good disinfectant.Lessons learned? Always have scotch around when handling sharp knives.

    Had the same problem with my ECB. I ended up removing almost all of the charcoal and kept some hickory wood chunks burning. After an hour, I was able to "mostly" maintain 220-250 degrees. The more I use the ECB, the closer I ma to totally upgrading. However, I too, am an El...

    New to the forum, new to "successful" smoking meats. I was given an ECB for Christmas and WILL upgrade shortly. Yep, Christmas was awhile ago but the key word is "Successful."
