    I am indeed a beginner so maybe "I don't know what I don't know", but is coal a good heat source?  I remember well the smell of burning coal in the stove to keep the house warm on a cold night when I was a kid.  That is not the taste I would want on my meat.  Just seems dirty.  Please correct me...
