Saved during the “Rocky Mountain High” days of John Denver, after being in a high school backpacking club in the 70’s, and earlier, Boy Scouts (liking the outings but only getting 2 merit badge!) when I met Baptist Christian rock climbers in Yosemite. An improvement from my confused & suicide-planning teen years!
Got to Texas, 1984, married: a state where Fajitas and Brisket are king. Tried smoking w/o consulting folks in a “li’l Smokey” & it was tough! (Btw, ELM IS FINE, called “oak elm” down here) now get compliments using the Texas Crutch of 4 hours smoking followed by the OVEN. Yeah, TREASON! Hahaha
