I haven't even put together my MES. I am a noob and not about ti try to get it dialed in with this weather.

So I just got my MES 40 and was sold on using the AMNPS. A lot of people seem to be buying the Masterbuilt cold smoke attachment. Has anyone used both? What would be the better set up? Here is a link to the attachment:

I recently joined a couple MES Facebook groups and I am surprised on how little there is talk of AMNPS. Sounds like most of them stick to the chip way and I can't imagine having to feed the smoker chips every 30-45 minutes. Really glad I found this site and learned about the AMNPS before I even...

Decided recently to get into smoking. I have not purchased my smoker and was wondering if I should wait until spring? Is it more difficult to keep the right temperature when it gets below freezing out? Or is it better because it will not overheat?

I plan on using the pellet smoker right away in mine and not even messing with the chips.

Haha yeah, I think I have it down pretty good now. All of the bluetooth versions are gen 2.5, that is what I am going to go for.

Rails in gen 1, which is better than two but not as good as 2.5. From what I have been reading from Bear.

Yup, gen 2.5 which I have heard is the best to get. Someone brought up in a different thread to look at the one without the window since it is about $70 cheaper but nobody has it in stock around me.

Hmm that is a good point. What about the Bluetooth, is that not worth the extra $$ either? Does Academy offer free shipping? If not the price might come closer to the one I can go pick up at Sams.
