    Steady Temp due to welding blanket issue

    I use a felt welding blanket year round. Even in hot conditions it keeps the fuel consumption down. I have had no difference in cook times related to the blanket.

    try putting the smoking tube near the front of the smoker where the gap for the lid is. It will get a better supply of oxygen there and burn better.

    Thanks for the advice.  My pellet smoker can hold at that temp all day.   I did a set of pork ribs and a pork tenderloin today for about 9 hours.  My wife loved the ribs so I guess I did something right.  I had both on at 180 or "smoke" setting for my smoker.  I did that for the first 7.5 hours...
