Vacation Time, Bushkill Creek / Bushkill, PA

Nice! Enjoy! As far as the trout, I have only caught Rainbow in the White River in Arkansas.  The bow's I caught were a lot lighter in color than that, but may be different up there?

Kingsford Briquettes vs. Royal Oak Ridge Briquettes: Burn Temperature, Time, and Ash Comparison

In my previous post I had said that I didn't think my wife would be happy with the 20 bag purchase I made yesterday.  I could not have been more wrong.  When she found out what I paid for them, she wanted to know why I didn't get more! Ha, go figure.  I guess since she has been doing most of the...

    Another new guy from Michigan!

Welcome! SMF is a wealth of knowledge!  I do some ice fishing in the UP every year, I have a friend that is originally from there.  Never been to the southern part of Michigan though.

    Water trays

I think it helps keep the meat a little more moist personally.  In my smoker, I have a homemade damper between the Fire Box and Cooking chamber to make the hole smaller and help redirect the heat. I put the water pan directly on top of that which has helped level off the temperature between the...

    Pork rubs

This is what I use for everything pork, but works well with chicken also. It does have a little spice to it so I usually use a sweet BBQ sauce with it. The ingredients below will make a little less than a quart so I put it in a quart mason jar and shake to mix. I have made the ingredients x8...

Kingsford Briquettes vs. Royal Oak Ridge Briquettes: Burn Temperature, Time, and Ash Comparison

I thought about it, but knew I was already pushing my luck with Boss Lady at home, so I stopped at 20. But that's not to say I won't go back before the sale is over. Haha 128540

Kingsford Briquettes vs. Royal Oak Ridge Briquettes: Burn Temperature, Time, and Ash Comparison

I have very vague memories of the Bear, I was only 7 yrs old when he passed.  But the man is a legend in college football!  I now live outside of Memphis, TN in the country and being a Bama fan in TN will make you be an honorary Vandy fan for sure! (Vols fans are hard to deal with around here) I...

Best way to test new thermometer for temperature accuracy??

Thanks Dave! I didn't realize elevation mattered, but where I live being a little over 300 ft it looks like on the chart it should still be 212 degrees. Is there a way to check the lower temp accuracy or is it one of those things that if it's correct at the boiling point, then it's good? Sorry...
