Can you add insulation to the bottom of an existing grill?

Thanks Jason for the info. This helps with a new direction! I could find the insulated material and make something like a insulator sleeve for the barrel. I'm strongly considering the Meadowcreek BBQ42 and could fabricate some sort of jacket for it. Just need a way to make it stick to it and...

Can you add insulation to the bottom of an existing grill?

Without affecting the height of coals too badly, can ceramic plate 1/4 inch thick be used under the coals? My thinking is it would help reduce heat loss in colder months through the bottom of the grill. Would it even help any? Perhaps 3/4 thick or even 1 inch thick. Waste of time, or is there...

Need advice on this smoker on Craigslist

The trailer smoker in the listing appears to be similar to the one in the post below. Hard to tell if the one I'm interested in would have poor flow, tack welded reverse flow plate? Which trailer?

Hi Gomez, my car can pull 1500 lbs and the grills would be under 400 lbs total. Coolers, charcoal, portable sink would make up the difference. I downloaded the Letgo app and found some decent trailers.

    Which trailer?

I'm moving up to BBQ units that are porch models and require a trailer. I'm posting here because I know many here may have shopped for trailers and which one is good for the money. I starts out by looking at the harbor freight models 1700 lbs. I also looked at lowes and tractor supply. I...

best way to clean a smoker??

I recommend calling the manufacturer and asking them since you have a pellet smoker. I would not recommend chemicals or water. Residue may burn and get onto food, water reacts with ash and causes rust out. Certainly get the grease out as it will rot and turn rancid. spray down exposed areas with...

    Hello! Rich from Ohio here.

I use to burn meat and had no idea on temp control or food temps. I have meatheads food temp magnet now. Three years into it now and became Church primary BBQ man. I read on amazing ribs website for a while, learned everything there. I also learned restaurant cooking etiquette from a fellow...
