I had an old pie pan I was using from my Brinkmann and I just sat that on the factory wood chip bowl and that worked pretty good. In the past, I bought one of those cast iron trays wit the lid. Should I use that instead?

My wife bought me the smoker I have always wanted. She got me the Masterbuilt XL smoker from Bass Pro. I love it already. I took heed of everyone's warning about the door leaking smoke and went to Ace Hardware and bought the wood stove door gasket. Worked like a champ! It's all cured up...
Ive been using this rub of mine for sometime now. Hell, I use it on steaks, ribs and pork. It's pretty darn good! With this recipe I rubbed down 2 Boston Butts and had about a quarter cup left. I also caked it on there to get a nice bark! Again, AWESOME on steaks! A secret that I learned on here...
Lol thanks guys! I had a cover but it got torn up in a storm bc it was kind of old. I got it burning now to get it warmed up for tomorrow. Almost forgot, it's a Brinkmann electrIc smoker (red "barrell").
