    UDS Air Intakes

Makes no difference one way or the other. I prefer taller intakes for the convince of not having to bend over

I’ve built 5 uds’. The first one I burnt out. The last 4 I had sandblasted for the convince. Your call. I just didn’t feel like getting dirty on the last 4 😂

    SmokinTex 1400

First cook done in the 1400. I didn't get a chance to cook a brisket but I was able to do 2 racks of baby backs. Seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika, brown sugar and cayenne. I used apple wood, set cook temp at 225° & cooked the ribs for 4 1/2 hours. They were pretty dang tasty!

    SmokinTex 1400

Fathers day is approaching so I decided to treat myself with a SmokinTex 1400 electric smoker with cart. They are currently running fathers day specials so I figured now is the best time to buy. Shipping was 1 day (super fast) and I'm currently seasoning the unit. I borrowed my neighbors unit...

Co-Worker wants me to smoke ribs - How much should I charge?

I've cooked for people and never charge because I have the time and love doing it. The folks I have cooked for provided everything I needed to get the job done. On every occasion, I always receive a hand shake of appreciation with at least a hundred placed in my hand.

    Pit paint?

Quick question. My pit's needing a fresh coat of high temp paint. I've used rustoleum in the past but was wondering what everyone else uses or do you let nature take its toll? Been thinking about having it powder coated. I look forward to hearing from you. Stephen

Gone but not forgotten... Weekend cook

Haven't been on in a while due to medical issues but haven't stopped q'ing or lurking the boards. Sprinter is here in Texas, the grass is green, the weather is great so it time to bbq. I ran Royal Oak charcoal instead of my usual hardwoods or Kingsford. I had a difficult time keeping and...

Has anyone used royal oak all natural briquets?

As far as I could tell, it wasn't damp. I thought it was strange as well. Usually when my reverse flow hits my desired temp, I shut it down and it does the rest. Can't really tell y'all what went on, just saying from my experience this weekend that I wasn't satisfied with Royal Oak's performance.
