This weekend we sorted the sliding vents on the FB, milled a groove in the FB door and glued in the the rope, also managed to fabricate the hinges for the door and got it all attached 😃
Hi everyone, my RF build is progressing now, and I’ll soon be at the stage of fitting the stack.
I just want to make sure I get it right.
It’s a relatively small build, tank size 46” X 15”, FB 15”X15”.
With it being so long and skinny it seems the right thing to do is to go big on the stack for...
Crikey, nearly 4 years on since my last post 😳
Today we actually did something!
FB all tacked together, Chop will finish welding it in the week, and attach it to the CC.
Hopefully Friday we will cut the door opening.
Hi Wet Spaniel! I’m in the UK too and had similar issues finding a larger capacity tank.
Mine is 46”X15” compressor tank, I’m still gambling on RF build, Davomak gave some great calculations and adjustments due to the narrow CC.
Basically to make it draw I’m having to use a 36”X 6” diameter...
…and there’s me pondering a small second top food grate in my 35gal 15” diameter build. After reading this I’m definitely sticking to just the one main grill!
Hi everyone! After a massive delay (nearly 3 years, oops!) we're going to get building again.
I just would like to ask some advice with the usual order of play. Does this seem correct?

2- cut the and attach door on cc.
3- clean and burn rust out of cc (any tips...
This Friday we made the cut to the CC, not to the original measurements, but to what @daveomak recommended due to me using such a long and narrow CC.
Thanks to @daveomak for the revised calculations!
This weekend I’d like to make a start on the smoker, I’ll dismantle all the unwanted junk and remove all the unwanted attachments.
I’d like to get a accurate internal measurement of the length and diameter of the CC so I can run the calculator again but I understand you shouldn’t cut the CC...
