Well that was interesting.........
I tried pellets with no difference. I also discovered the smoker cycles between 235 and 255 when set at 220 degrees. I decided to call Char-broil. The rep told that this is a brand new product, that Char-broil is still "learning it." They don't think...
I have a chip box with a lid. I'm wondering if cracking the lid a little might help. The lid fits the box very tight. And the box has very little venting.
Hi, question about my new smoker. A little about me first..... I have smoked meat in water smokers for a few years now. I understand what is too much smoke, and why "Thin blue" smoke is what to strive for.
That said. I've used my new smoker twice. Each time the meat was perfectly cooked...
Have one being delivered tomorrow. It's pre-seasoned. I know nothing from cast iron cooking. Do need to do something to it before the first use? On my other grills, I scrape the grill screen, then spray it with Pam before I put it away. Is that going to work with cast iron?

Older thread, but since it's been bumped, I agree with the above. I don't even use the EVB any more. I put an afterburner in the ECB, but I still rarely bother, the Kettle is that good.
Don't use Lump, can't help there. But I've used both RO and Kingsford Blue briqs. All things being equal, I think RO briqs have a very slight (barely noticeable) better aroma/taste, and they cost less than Kingsford. However, they don't burn as hot, so you use more, negating the savings. And...
If you're closing the intake dampers, the coals should extinguish. Sounds like you have a nasty leak. 2 things..... Keep the access door shut tight. Opening that briefly causes temps to fall, but also gives the coals unlimited access to Oxygen, making them run hotter still.
Also, the...
If you're not really reselling it, make sure you pay any applicable sales or use tax. If they get audited, your state may call on you too.
In my state if I buy things tax exempt, but use them for personal use I have to pay use tax. If I don't, I could get a HEFTY fine.
I saw that post, and have had similar experiences. It's hard to argue when meat is spitting juice a foot or more. But the popular theory right now is that searing does not seal the meat. I sear mostly because I like the flavor. I suggest you try and see what you think about the moisture. It...
Two wrongs don't make a right. I'd forget about calling for every little thing your neighbors do. It will only make both households a PITA to the police who should be doing more important things.
What did the cops charge you with???? Let us know what the judge says.
