Thanks everyone. We lost the pregnancy a couple days ago. Our third such loss in about 5 years. We have first round of chemo scheduled in about a week and a half. Then a week of intense radiation that the doctor said "will kick her ass" followed by more chemo.
Thanks for everyones kind words and advice. Her case is being presented to a large "tumor board" in a week due to the unusualness of the cancer plus the added complication of a pregnancy.
what we thought was some easy to remove non-spreading cancer has turned out to be quite the opposite. plus we found out we are 6 weeks pregnant. pregnancy means chemo is out which would be extremely effective for her cancer. now its just a crazy invasive intensive surgery and radiation. trying...
I use stainless grill grates on my green egg. I will use onion on hot grates once a year maybe. Before each use I juse use a paint scraper to scrape the grates. It works great. The multiple angled and rounded edges allow me to get on topn, the sides and under the grate. I havent used the wire...
I have this weber rib rack. It seems like that may be a good thing to place the brisket atop of, allowing it to bend. What do you think? I'd like to keep it as one piece ideally.

first, thanks to the generous sponsors and members that give their time to organize and run these. its really cool that we do this with some great prizes.
I entered one, and cooked and photographed a dish for another that i forgot to submit in time. It's tough for a bbq forum to hold a contest...
I have some family coming over in several weeks. I have a big brisket in my freezer id like to cook for us all one day. All i have is a large big green egg. i do have a second elevated rack. would i be better off just trimming super aggressively, cutting it to fit or cutting it in half and smoke...
we will be relocating by years end for my new career in semiconductor manufacturing. before that was ten years with a non profit managing construction projects and corporate donor relationships. but honestly my wife makes more now than i probably ever will doing enterprise-level IT services...
i only use lumberjack pellets and recommend them to anyone who uses pellets. if you have lots of clumps and dust, then moisture definately got in there somehow. there will be a bit of dust at the end of the bag but thats normal for any bagged pellets.
i'd buy a few bags at that price but no higher. every several months i will buy a bag again and its always disappointing. so many tiny pieces, so many that are clearly wood scraps from some factory or rocks. lots of dust. but then again, life is like a bag of charcoal, dont know what you'll get.
not sure where you're at or how far youre willing to drive but theres a grocery store in boca on the broward/pb county line on 441 called galafresh (used to be western beef). their meat department is a 2000sqft walk in refrigerator. always good deals in their flyers. they also bake fresh italian...
A few days ago I took a pork shoulder out of the freezer. The boneless part I will cut into "country style ribs" for the smoker which will also get some chicken wings. My wife is making cheesesteak eggrolls and queso. We always end up trading plates with our neighbor who always cooks up some...
Be sure to let us know what you think of the recteq. I've been looking at that model for a bit. How long have you been in south florida? I lived in broward and palm beach counties from 2000-2022, it was quite the experience.
with no pan fat would fall to the floor of the cooker. fire pot is right in the middle, it is covered though but grease would still flow in if theres enough volume of fat. i would never run it without the water pan there, whether its full or not. i figured the primary purpose of the water pan...
