    Exhaust pipe damper

Just finished my 250 gallon reverse flow and I also brought my chimney down to the grate level. I have not installed a damper yet but, I have been using a piece of steel to act as a temporary damper. I would have thought that closing the damper some would create more heat in the cooking chamber...

    Rub Recipe

Hey Everyone, I have a question with regards to rubs. My dad just recently had a 4 way heart bypass and I am just finishing up my smoker, and he is anxious to eat some of the Q. The question that I have is that he cannot have a ton of salt. I was curious if anyone had any good rub recipes that...

    Need Opinnions!??!

I think that the 210 is the way to go. Using the gas while welding makes for a nice clean weld. I believe the duty cycle is 20 to 30% which is ok. I also think that the 210 will do a 1/4" in a single pass. The problem with flux core wire is that it pops quite a bit and there is more time needed...

    Can I Do It ???????

Thank you for the quick replies. I still have to season the smoker, I almost have it finished. I will probably do a trial run at home by cutting the butt into thirds and see if it works. If not, then the doggys will get a major treat. If I indeed need to do the smoke while I am on shift the day...

    Can I Do It ???????

Ok, now I am not sure if what I am attempting to do is a Cardinal Sin or not but, later this month I am going to be smoking some brisket and pork butt for my work's company BBQ. It will be my smoker's maiden voyage. So here is the question. If I take an 8 lb. butt and cut it into thirds will it...

    250 gallon propane tank

Weld some 2" channel iron "Strong Backs" on the inside of the walls. That will re-inforce the wall and it is cost effective and quick. Hope this helps. Erik

    Chimney Question

Hey Everyone, I am almost done with my build, (sorry for not posting pics, but I will try in the near future). But here is the question that I have. The build consists of a 250 gallon propane tank and a 24"h x 30"w x 30"d firebox, I built this as a reverse flow smoker and I am not sure how far...
