However, when he brought it over I just assumed he would have slides built in and be ready to tack it to my unit but once installed it seemed to be fine without it.     I can take the top rack out if I am doing butts, and if I am doing ribs and chicken parts I will lay both racks in.

    I have been wanting nice expanded grate racks for my joe but can't seem to find any body making them so I had them made for me. And they are removable (no weld)..

    Im talking about connecting an elbow pipe to the smoke stack to bring the opening down to the grate level.

    I will be having a sliding grate installed and was thinking of maybe putting a small second sliding grate in but that would require removing the dryer vent. Now, I would guess the Okla joe folks designed this smoker to work with the stack where it is. Any of you using the smoker without the mod...

    expanded grate for oklahoma joe anyone make them?

    I would like to replace my factory grates with expanded metal grates for my joe highland. I have NEVER seen anyone using them in youtube mod videos. Are they available to purchase somewhere?
