I have a chane to swap my old but still good porcelain grates with SS. Which is better and why?

Stainless Steel, Enamel Coated Cast Iron. Those are the only 2 I'm aware of. The SS are about $25/set more.

I would use the ones you have now till you don't want to use them anymore. Now I do spray my ceramic coated grates with pan everytime I start a new grill cook. But other then that I wouldn't replace them unless you just want to. Now both of my smokers have ss grates but thats what they came with.

Cast iron holds heat better, and helps eaven out hot spots. Stick with the enamal covered cast till they die.
