Waxing cheese to preserve it?

Does anyone wax their cheese to seal it? I am thinking about trying it but don't knowhow or what kind of wax to use.

I wax homemade cheese.
You need cheese wax to do it properly, but, it's very expensive in small quantities.

Most everyone here seals using a vacuum sealer...

Whether waxed or vac packed, make sure to turn your cheese. If you don't the moisture will collect on the bottom of the cheese and make it mushy. We have waxed cheese before, but I don't think that the expense and mess are worth it for store bought cheese. Now if I was making my own cheese and needed to age it, then that would be a different story!
