Hi,
I'm building a DIY temp monitor for my smokehouse and looking for suggestions on Type-K insertion probes. I'm planning on having 3-4 so I can monitor several pieces of meat at once. I need probes with bare leads or thermocouple plugs and NOT the 1/4" connector. The only one I'm finding on Amazon is almost $40, which means 3 or 4 would get spendy quick.
I'm looking to see what others are using. There are a few probe out there without a point on the, would those work ok, other than being blunt and difficult to insert?
Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!

Check with Auber Instruments. They have some that come on K type with the plug attached. Shows to be less than 20 bucks on their website.
