Well  guys, after seeing some posts regarding using charcoal in Todds' pellet burner,I decided to give it a try.Using all charcoal creates great charcoal smell, but the smoke it generates is light so mixing it with some pellets is a must.I was in the mood for some turkey so I decided to give it a wirl. There was some charcoal taste to the bird but it was very light and,in my opinion, not really worth the extra step of smashing the charcoal.I think I might give Todds charcoal pellets a try next time I reorder  my pellets.Enjoy.

I dont want to toot my own flute, but it did have  deep mahagony color.[IMG]That was with temp set at 270 and cooked for about 3 hours. The pellets and charcoal ran out at about 2 hours.Using charcoal definetely burns the rows much faster.
