I know that there is a whole forum here talking about UDS builds and showing off some really nice ones, but I was wondering if we could build a list of URLs to sites that have good videos on building them and or part for them like fire baskets, wheels, etc.

I'll pull responses together and make a new post.

I'm thinking of making one with 3/4" steel pipe for the intakes on the bottom.  How do you attach the pipe that is through the hole?  Large nuts and washers?

From what I've read and seen, many UDS builders - and the mailbox smoke generator builders, too - use threaded pipe nipples for connections. Not sure what diameter the pipe was, but many have used conduit nuts. I think this was on the 3/4" nipples, but I'm not sure.

Others have welded the nipples to their smokers and others have used epoxy weld or JB Weld.
