I have always wanted a smoker, but never really understood how to use one. I have used a propane for the last 20 years and overcooked many a steak. I finally bit the bullet and picked up an Oklahoma Joe's smoker. I have been browsing this site and picking out pointers for smoking my meats. Last week I fired it up and smoked some pork country style ribs. Oh, My Goodness! I used a premade rub and was really surprised. They came out looking wonderful and no sauce was needed. I am looking forward to having a "smoking" summer. See ya'll online.

Oh you're going to have fun. Try something inexpensive like chicken as you get the hang of your rig, preferred woods, etc.
