Honey Habanero sauce?

One of our local pubs used to offer honey habanero wings, and they were fantastic- just the right balance of sweet & heat. It didn't have any pieces of habanero in it, so I wonder what they used?
Does anyone have a recipe I could try?

Try making habanero hot honey and just glazing with that or was the sauce red?. I've made a couple posts on my hot honey process as have others.

No, the sauce wasn't red. I'll need to check out other posts.
