We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions Post it
and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is because their
are so many different ways to make great Q We all have our own taste.

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF). To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.
If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do. There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!
If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler! Happy to help out!

Welcome aboard, Mike! This is the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc. There are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable folks who really enjoy helping one another. When you can't find the answer you're looking for, just ask and someone here will have the answer.

Welcome. You'll love this forum. I just started smoking last fall and had limited success until I found this forum. I have learned so much from the kind members. They are generous with answers to your questions and there are a ton of great ideas in the postings. One of the ways I learned the most was posting my projects with pictures and I always got support, advice and suggestions for differing ways to do things.
I am sure you will love this forum as much as I do.

HI, YES,SO MUCH INFO..I HAVE SPENT HALF OF TODAY JUST "LURKING" HOW DO YOU FOLKS SUBMIT YOUR PICTURES,I AM HAVING A TIME OF IT TRYING ..ALSO ,HAVE NOT NOTICED A LOT OF RECIPES,LIKE FOR BRISKET?? I HAVE A NEW WSM 18. HAVE COOKED RIBS TWICE,A 12 LB TURKEY,AND A PORK PICNIC.. ALL CAME OUT GOOD.. I JUST NEED A LITTLE TWEAKING IN MY TEMP MANAGEMENT..
OOPS, I TAKE IT BACK ABOUT NOT FINDING INFO.. FOUND WHERE TO GO .. A LOT OF INFO.. LEARNING HOW TO NAVIGATE THIS SITE.. HAVING FUN .

Mike.. welcome to your new addiction (the forums)... As Ron (Rubbin Butts) said about the Gathering... if you really want to learn new tricks and tips LIVE... then come and join us at the Gathering.... As for posting pictures.. being you are new.. the spam filters will put your pics in jail until a moderator approves them... after you get about 20 post or so your pictures will not be held for approval anymore....

Mike.. we all bring our own smoker and cook there... If that's a problem, I'm sure somebody will have room in their's... or if it's even easier to cook at home and bring with you, we can just warm it up for ya.... A few of the reasons for bringing a smoker is... This way everybody gets see how other smokers perform to help with any future purchases... To see how other people cook to gain further knowledge or for a tip or trick or 2... .. Sit around the campfire (and smoker) and tell a bunch of "stories"... (ie..... MAN.... You should have seen the 20lb bass I caught).
As Ron said... even if it's only for a day (Sat. being the "Competition day"), come join us

HEY RON, THANKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS.. STILL ON A LEARNING CURVE.. WE ARE ENJOYING OUR NEW WSM 18.. DID A FEW MODS. GROMMET HOLES WITH CAPS FOR MY MAVERICK, PUT CASTERS ON TODAY..THIS FORUM HAS SO MUCH INFO..WE ARE GOING TO TRY TO MAKE THE SAT "GATHERING".. WILL BE FINE IF WE JUST GET TO MEET SOME OF THE FOLKS.. I MIGHT BRING SIMETHING ,,THINKING OF A PORK BUTT.. THIS WAY WE CAN BRING PULLED PORK FOR SANDWHICHES.JUST A THOUGHT..
