Hello from the ATL,
I just got my 1st smoker last week, ready for some smokin good meat.

It seems to be the 1st question, so I'll go ahead and answer it;

I got a Brinkman Gourmet charcoal smoker as a 10yr anniv gift from my employer. Headed out shortly to get some lump charcoal and some hardwood to smoke with. got some chicken already in a brine :)

Welcome to SMF. Thats a great present to get. Check out the 5 day ecourse. Lots of great information there.

Welcome to the family, glad you found us

You will find a ton of good information floating around in here

Don't be afraid to ask questions and remember, the only stupid question is the one you didn't ask.

Check out the 5 day ecourse it is definitely worth it

Glad to have you with us at the SMF. Plenty of great Q has come from your type of smoker. It's all good my friend.

Fist off welcome to SMF you'll love it here cause there are alot of good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. as for your boss giving you the smoker thats a good thing for you but does he know that he has now given you another reason to be sick more because of the new addiction thats coming your way now with the smoker. You should look up the 5-day E-course, it's free and very informative about the basics of smoking. The next thing is go grab something to smoke and smoke it and if your have any questions just post it here and we will answer it for you. So:
Welcome To the Addiction.

mballi3011, looks like a great setup except for that gator on the chair :-)

Just finished my 1st batch of chicken. Turned out ok. I did get a little of that numbing bitter creosote? (sp) I'm thinking I used a little too much wood? From the time I put the breasts on it took about ~75min to get to 160 degrees. input is welcome.

However, i am pleased with my 1st go-round.
