I have taken beef stock and reduced that down to demi-glace and used that in a pinch. But you'll likely have to add salt.

Everything looks fantastic, Keith! I have done some smoked onions, but not that exact recipe. I will definitely be trying the onion recipe, though ........ they look awesome.

Now that's a fine meal and also some sweet Vidalia onions!

Try looking at Hy-Vee. Says our local store in Cherokee has it. Was gone for the weekend but found 2 bottles in Hy-Vee in Iowa Falls . Was like $ 4.50 ish per bottle

FWIW.....medium size vidalia onions work best....no larger than about 3" in diameter. Large ones just don't seem to work out so good. The medium onions are also about the perfect size portion per person.....
