Good morning and welcome to the forum, from a muggy, hot day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about everything.
Good to see another person. From a fellow MES owner. here's a tip. Invest in a AMNPS. Trust me. You'll end up with one sooner or later. Great for the long smokes.
I have the amp - ive posted quite a bit about my troubles.
The best way for me - dry the pellets, open the vent to 100%, and take out the chip tray and the loader to keep airflow going. Im going to try the mailbox - so I can get more room in the cooker.
Hi guys I've see a lot of posts about the Amazin pellet smoker, where is the best placement for it, I see I need to remove the chip loader and chip tray and also do vents need to be fully opened or halfway for air flow? Thanks in advance.
Sorry to hear about your continuing troubles with it. I use the smoke box from the bradley covered up the big opening and made vents I can open and close. So far the only thing I had to do was add in a thrid vent to allow more air because if i tried lighting both ends the one farthest from the vent hole would go out.
Used it again Saturday and no issues with my AMNPS. Hope you can solve your problems you are having. Having to fight with things like that are not fun after a while. Good luck with the mod.
Rob
For me the best place is where the most air comes from - right above the chip tray - when you take it out. The air comes in the loader, thru the chip tray and into the AMP. With the full vent - it creates a great flow.
I try to keep it out from uder the smoking meat as it gets drowned in juices and puts out the pellets. Like I said - Im moving into the mailbox for a while.
