Just wondering how hot the MES or Cajun Injector ES get on the outside and bottom. Would they be safe on a wooden deck?

Just pick you up about 4 16 inch tiles and lay them under it. That's what I did with my gas and I know it gets hotter than the MES. You'll probably end up wanting something to set the MES on anyway. It's so low to the ground, really works nice on a cart.

You don't have to worry about the MES, it has adjustable feet underneath, and won't burn your deck at all. You will most likely end up with some kind of stand so you don't have to stop while loading and unloading, etc.

My stand is about 12" or 13" and is perfect for the MES 40".

I've always had my MES's on my wooden deck with no problems.  You just might want to put something under it to catch any drippings.
