don't have a smoker yet. been using my grill, which is a real PITA.
born in WV, graduated HS/undergrad in MS, right now i'm in AR.

just looking to get a small, economical smoker to learn on until i get a job, move into a bigger place, etc.

Welcome to SMF glad you decided to join us. You'll find lots of good info and some great recipes here. I'd also suggest signing up for Jeff's 5 Day Ecourse its free and has some great info. What type of smoker do you think you'd like to start with electric, propane, charcoal?

Here is something on Craigslist....I think that $40 is too much....I would offer less....good luck....and if you have the time and tools, you could build your own. Some like UDS "ugly Drum smoker" and you can build them with minimal tools.

Welcome to the forum. Check around swap meets, CL, various sources, you'll find a cheap smoker. I've even seen the elcheapo card board smokers.
