Spinning Turkey! Q-veiw.

Hi..spun another bird on the rotisserie yesterday, smoked with cherry and hickory. Got a late start so bumped the temp a little, 330°~340°. Injected with some marinade just before smoking (forgot to inject it the night before icon_smile.gif).

Not the best one, but still good PDT_Armataz_01_29.gif. Meat texture and juiciness was not as good because the injection didn't have time to break things down overnight. Also temp should have been more like 325°, but this was an express job and cut up for my lunches (love smoked turkey sandwiches).

The bird was a 16lbs, done in a little over 3 hrs.

On and ready

1 hr, sprayed with Pam. Internal temp 92°

2 hrs, internal temp 129°

3 hrs and 10 min, internal temp 166°. Done icon_smile.gif. Nice smoky flavor and very crispy. Still plenty juicy PDT_Armataz_01_29.gif.

Excellent job! How'd you keep your meat therm from wrapping around the rotisserie?

Thanks for the nice comments icon_smile.gif.

I sneak the wire through the rod bearing along side the rod (rod has flat edges) and connect the display to the handle with rubber band technology biggrin.gif.

icon_evil.gif Now I have to add a THIRD tool to my tool box icon_evil.gif
I have the wd-40 for when it should move and doesn't .
Duct tape for when it shouldn't move and does .
Now I have to add the High Tech rubberbands for a temporary duct tape job without the sticky residue . icon_rolleyes.gif

Great job on that bird , it looks great PDT_Armataz_01_37.gif
Great tip for the spinners too ,PDT_Armataz_01_37.gif

Great looking bird Dave.

That's it. I gotta build a plug-in device to allow this to work without the rubber band... ;{) Nice bodge-up tho!
