Well I tried the MBS and was a little disappointed in the ribs when they first came out. This was my first time with spare ribs also. I do quite a bit of chicken quarters, wings, and hams in my barrel smoker. My neighbors thought the ribs were good but I wasn't satisfied. Pulled the left overs out today and threw the tin foiled wrapped ribs back in the oven for a couple of hours @ 200 to warm them up and they were awesome. No sauce needed. Used hicory for the ribs. Went to Aceademy sports today and they had apple chips. (that was I i every used for pork when I was stationed in Nebraska and had apple trees). Bought every bag they had!!!! I think a little more experience with the MBS and I'll really enjoy it. Was nice not to have to watch it like a hawk like I do my barrel.

Update with a few pictures
Rubbed and ready to soak

After 3 hours

ready to eat

sorry to hear your ribs not to your liking BAMA but you said the nieghbors
liked them so its not a loss , its funny how we set our self standards so high at times . i often am not tickled with my smokes while everyone else
is raving at how good the food is...ribs in particular can be different each and every time you can use the same prep a thousand times and still the taste has a variance.....dont get down on yourself like you said first smoke with the new equip. it'll come around

The ribs look great !!!

I think jerkyaddict said it well, "its funny how we set our self standards so high at times", as I have yet to be happy with my own ribs yet but other people really like them.
