I read the details Bear put up about regulating temps but man this is running hot. I have my temp at 130 and tempt is at 190. Then when I went to change the temp lower the read out on the unit showed 887 for the temp. Anyone have this happen before? I had to turn off the smoker and back on to be able to set the temps again. This has happened twice. Not liking this so far. Snack sticks going worried about a fat out as the temps keep flying way up to 190 . Any suggestions

So the before temps were with vent wide open and crushed pellets in the chip tray. Those have burnt off and closed the vent temps now holding steady at 143, set at 130. I should also mention this is my first smoke with this. Burn off was last night at max temp for 2 hours.

Temps all over the place. I have the temp set at 130 and its jumping up and down 135 to 211 . Wondering if my thermostat is bad?
