Hey yall,

My sons birthday party is this weekend. Going to have about 20 adults plus 8 kids. Would 2 Boston butts about 6-7 lbs each be enough for everyone? We are also having hamburgers and stuff. Just trying to make sure we're gonna have enough.
Thanks for the help as always!
Danny

well you lose about 30%-40% of the weight through the cook  then take out the bone.  from what ive read guys who do catering say average serving size is like 4 oz. so 4 sandwiches per pound of cooked meat.   i think you'd end up with like around 20 sandwiches i think   from 2 butts idk if i got that 100% right. maybe one of the catering guys can chime in to better answer it  for ya

I think that would be plenty of pulled pork especially with hamburgers and stuff.  When I do it for parties, I use dinner rolls/sliders so folks can make smaller sammies.  The pulled pork goes farther and less wasted.

Thanks for the response yall. Yea I was gonna do sliders so it'll last longer. Wonder if I could get away with just 1 bigger one.
