Ok, so i have a function to go to for Mothers Day. I'm smoking 3 or 4 briskets in my MES 40 for the family.

I'm looking for a meat thermometer that i can monitor at least 2 or 3 briskets without having to buy multiple units.

My wife has given me permission to buy a good one, because in her words, "I better not F**K THIS UP !!"

I've looked on amazon and other places, and i've seen the iGrill, but i'm not shelling out $150 for that.

Gentlemen, you have your orders, now complete the mission....In other words....PLEASE HELP !!

Just get a Thermapen and probe each one every so often. No need to know the internal temp of your meat every second of the cook.. With a Thermapen you can easily probe the briskets in a couple different places as well when you do want to check temps. Briskets and pork butts I don't even probe for the first 4 or 5 hours or so. You can get the new MK4 for less than a hundred bucks I think. The Classic Thermapen is even cheaper. You won't regret getting one.

The best bang for the buck is the Lavatool Javelin. $25.99 on Amazon and if you have Prime no shipping fee. I have had mine (Actually have three. 1 for at home, 1 in my camp cook box and a spare(which I haven't needed)).

My main one has been going strong since I got it. That was 4 years ago I think.

I agree, I have 3 of them..

No need to have a IT probe in all the time.

IF you cooked brisket before, you will know when to start checking the meat for doness.

Right. And you don't need thermometer to know when it's done. A toothpick works just great.
